TOP TABLE – 10 OCTOBER 2008

Well done to everyone who earned a seat at the much coveted Top Table.

BLINK DAY

The grand sum of £371.56 was raised on ’our casual dress for charity’ day at the end of last term.  Children were invited to wear pink or blue in support of Breast Cancer and Cancer Research.  As you can see in the ‘Top Table’ picture above, various shades of those colours, and very interesting hats were worn.  The children love these days and in turn worthwhile charities are helped by their donations.

Thank you to all the parents who made an effort dressing their children up for the day.

Well done to our P6 pupil who won an award for ‘Best Junior Film’ in which he played the part of a debt collector!!!  The film along with several others was showcased at Cineworld to family and friends and chosen as the best by a number of judges. 

Script to Screen and Stage is run by a former teacher of Culter School, Mrs Joyce Ogilvie.

Well done to those who took part in the winning film.

P1-P7 pupils are invited to take a decorated pumpkin to school on Friday.  They should take it to their classroom where it will be judged and prizes awarded some time in the morning. 

Don’t worry if you are unable to take a pumpkin in.  I am sure you will enjoy seeing some of the strange looking pumpkins that do arrive in school!

PIRATES OF CULTER SCHOOL

P3R had a pirate day yesterday which  was quite scary!  My heart was thumping as I went into their classroom!!! If you can bear to look, here is a wee taster of their day!  After the holidays Mrs Robinson and P3R will be setting up their class blog and the remainder of the photographs (you have been warned!) and also a wee surprise film will be uploaded.  So keep coming back to check it out.

Badminton news

Also, P7P attended a Badminton Carnival last Tuesday at R.G.U.  A photograph has been uploaded to www.badmintonscotland.org.uk and is available to view.  Go to the Photo Gallery, click on Bank of Scotland Play Carnivals and locate picture no. 21.  A great afternoon was had by all.

Copies of the P1 ‘First Class’ photographs have arrived in school.  They will feature in the Evening Express later in the week and will be available to purchase via the school office.  The school will earn £1.00 from each photograph purchased.
