ECO Council
We are going Yellow to go Green
We are taking part in the Yellow Woods Challenge, the environmental competition run by Yellow Pages, working with the Woodland Trust and the local council.
From 12th May until 27th June, our challenge is to collect as many old front covers from Yellow Pages as possible. It’s only the covers we need, the rest of the directory should be recycled via the council’s kerbside collection.
Schools that collect the highest number of old directory covers per pupil will be awarded a cash prize. For every pound given to schools, Yellow Pages will give a matching pound to the Woodland Trust to help plant and care for new woodland across the UK.
Please ask your family, friends and work colleagues to help our school by donating their old directory covers too.
Please help us with this challenge. Thank you.

ECO ASSEMBLY - 9th April, 2008
Waste Aware Aberdeen came to an Eco Assembly to remind us about what we should do with glass, plastic, cans and paper. They told us that the landfill site for Aberdeen is running out of space and that it’s everyone’s responsibility to REDUCE, REUSE and RECYCLE.
ECO FRIENDLY BAGS
The Eco Committee decided at their most recent meeting that it would be a good idea to sell eco friendly fabric bags. Pupils have been asked to think of a slogan which would be printed on the bag, along with the school logo. Any suggestions for a slogan should be given to Mrs Fiddes by Friday 18th April.
The School Eco Council encourage pupils to be aware of their environment.
They aim to eliminate the litter in the playground and have formed a ‘Litter Patrol’ to teach other pupils to be responsible for their own litter thus helping to keep the school playground tidy.
