Hockey Results for Culter Primary

Two weeks ago on Tuesday, Culter Hockey entered a small tournament organised by Aberdeen City Council.  After two terms of training this was our first opportunity to play real matches.  You bet we were excited.

Our first game was nerve-wracking.  We had some good chances but missed the goal by hair breadths.  We lost the game 2 – 0.

The next match was agains Loirston.  We beat them with 3 goals by James, Chloe and Liam and wonderful supporting play by the rest of the team.

Then we got the ‘return matches’.  We beat Charleston in a very tense match 1-0.  And so to the next game.

So in the end we had 9 points and came joined first!  What a great result for a first time.

Thanks to all players:  Liam, Shannon, Chloe, James, Grant, Ian, Emma K and Jenny form Active Schools and of course the parents that came to watch.

COACH WANTED

Next year we would like to continue the hockey club and play more tournaments.  Unfortunately I will no longer be able to coach as I am leaving for the Netherlands.  So if you are free one afternoon a week, enjoy working with children and are willing to give up some precious time why not contact Jenny Black (01224) 346301.  The Council will provide training courses, equipment and some resources are available to.  It is not scary at all.  The players are wonderful and all admin will be done by Jenny.  You only have to coach.
