THE 47TH CULTER BB & CULTER AND DISTRICT PIPE BAND are looking to recruite boys and girls, aged 8 – 11, to form a Novice Juvenile band. The Village Hall need more people to join their 300 Club which helps raise funds for Culter Village Hall as well as giving out a monthly cash prize.
For those wishing to join now the cost is £8.00 (this will put you into the last 8 draws until May 2009), you will be allocated a number which is entered into each draw. The next one takes place on 6th October. Remember, the more people, the bigger the cash prize each month.
The 300 Club commenced in June this year – with the intention of finding 300 people in or around Culter willing to pay £12 for the years (June 08 – May 09 – that’s only £1 per month). Presently there are only 118 members, meaning a cash prize of £59. Proceeds from each month’s draw is evenly split between the cash prize and Culter Village Hall, where the money is used to maintain the hall – presently they are saving up for a new boiler. As the Village Hall is for the benefit of the Village, please help – pass on the word to family and friends who may be interested too – there are no restrictions on how many numbers you can buy, so long as you are over 18 years of age.

Blairs Museum – Autumn Concert

Mystery Shopper needed in Peterculter!!
ABA Market Research Ltd are working with BP to undertake mystery shopping visits to their service stations throughout the country. Consequently, they are inviting shoppers to become ‘the eyes and ears’ of the customers – assessing where service is strong and where BP needs to improve.
They have said ‘A typical mystery shopper would involve a trip to Peterculter BP garage, where you will need to assess the forecourt, staff, store environment, and where applicable, the cafe and toilet. You will be asked make an enquiry with a staff member and make a purchase, spending at least £3-£10, depending on the store. You would then complete an online questionnaire about how you rated the shopping experience. As a thank-you for your time, you will be send £10 – £15 depending on the store you visit. This is someone who YOU think has made a significant contribution to the life of the village through their participation:
In Success in Sport- as a dedicated sporting individual or a real team-player who inspires others.
In Fund-raising – someone who gives their time and energy in raising funds for a particular charity or cause which helps others.
In Heritage – In promoting the Heritage of the Peterculter area.
Culture – Developing a unique individual talent, in Art, Music, Drama or Dance.
In Helping Others - Within the Community, by giving time and consideration to groups or individuals.
Your nominee should be under the age of 18, on 31st May 2008, and residing in the Culter area.

CULTER GALA
The annual Culter Gala Race Night is to be held in the Village Hall on Saturday 17th May 2008. Tickets are now on sale priced £8.00 which includes stovies during the evening and a disco after the races have finished. Please come along and support us in what has proved and extremely enjoyable evening in the past. This is the Gala’s main fundraiser and all profits raised will be distributed to local groups later in the year.
