NEW YEAR, NEW BLOG

Uncategorized  Tagged No Comments »

Unfortunately, our existing main blog has now exceeded the quota of space available from Edublogs. Therefore, I have had to create a new blog which can be found at www.abernet.org.uk/culterblog  It will follow the same format as before but has limitless space.  Apologies to those awaiting gymastic photos, but there was no space on old blog for them so will make sure they are added to the new blog.

It is important that you subscribe FREE to the new blog by typing your name in the ’subscription’ box.  All school notices will be posted on the blog, so make sure you sign up so you don’t miss out.  If you have problems or are unsure, please e-mail me at b.polson@culter.aberdeen.sch.uk and I will help.

I have put up a temporary design which will change, so please bear with me.

Thanks for your patience!

We wish Mr Grant, DHT, the very best wishes as he retires today.  He will be sorely missed by everyone – the place won’t be the same without him!

Dear P3R and P7P

We are fine and going to the Wegwijzer school In Rhoon, Holland for a while.  Everything is going fine at the dutch school.  Everyone is very nice including the teachers.  Mine (Joshua’s) is Mr Jaap and very tall, someone said more than 2m tall.  Everyone cycles to school and we come past a deer park on the way there.  We also get gym 2 x a week and there is a separate crafts and painting room.  They had put welcome on the Smartboards on our 1st day.  The dutch Santa comes to school on December 5th and we need to put a shoe out for him to leave everyone a treat.  He has a white horse here and helpers covered in black soon called Black Pieters.

Hope you are fine. We heard you had snow, hope that was fun.

Gift Wrapping – Thursday 27th November

Uncategorized No Comments »

Please note the date given in the newsletter for gift wrapping is wrong. The Parent Council will be in school on Thursday 27th November to wrap gifts to sell to the children.  They welcome any help that you can give - even for an hour.  I am sure it will be good fun, with refreshments thrown in, so please make an effort to help.  Thank you on behalf of the Parent Council.

Have you any old wool?

Primary 7H’s project this term is World War 2.  They plan to knit squares to make a war time blanket and would be very grateful for donations of chunky or double knitting wool.  Any amount will be gratefully received.  Hope you can help.

ECO COUNCIL SUCCESS

Well done to the Eco Council who organised the collection of old or broken jewellery.  They raised £258.85 for the school.  They are still collecting old mobile phones so if you have any you don’t use, please send into school before Christmas.  Thankyou.

They will also be recycling old stamps and what better time to start than Christmas!  This will however be an ongoing project so please remember to keep all your used stamps and send them into school with your child.  The Eco Council will issue each class with envelopes and stamps will be sent to RNIB who will earn money from the stamps we send them.
