Ross Harman P7P has discovered a website that donates rice to poor contries by simply answering questions. For each question you answer corectly you donate 20 grains of rice. You can choose different subjects such as art, chemistry, english, geography, maths and foreign languages. Ross showed me the site and in 10 minutes I had donated 7000 grains of rice.

GridClub Home Learning Scheme
General Tagged GridClub, Learning No Comments »
The GridClub is a learning website for anyone aged 5 to 12. It has over 500 activities closely linked to the Curriculum and is designed to be highly motivating and rewarding. The school once made excellent use of GridClub, but we are unable to subscribe at present due to costs involved per pupil. However, they are offering parents the chance to subscribe at home to help support their children’s school work. If you would like a free trial or subscription go to www.gridclub.com/myschool and fill in the required details. If you do subscribe, please fill in the school postcode, which is AB14 0RX in the ‘SPECIAL CODE’ box and they will send us 25% of your subscription as part of their fundraising scheme. GridClub is fun, safe and rewarding so it is worth setting up a free trial to find out more.
We need your help!
General Tagged help, parents No Comments »As the end of term approaches and the P7’s prepare for their move up to Cults, we would like to make a short film to present to them, which they can look back on in years to come. To help make this film, we need a few ‘props’. We are in the early planning stages so at the moment we need 2 Sumo Wrestler suits, or fake male chests, a belly dancing costume and a large stuffed cuddly dog. Not sure if you can guess from this what the theme of our film is, but all will become apparent. If you have any of these items and you don’t mind lending them for a few days, please e-mail me at b.polson@culter.aberdeen.sch.uk
We will probably need more items as we progress so I will no doubt hassle you all at a later date.
Thanks for your help.

“Mrs Forbes, do you still read for pleasure?”
“Yes, of course,” Mrs Forbes replied.
“My mum and dad don’t, they only read for information!”
I think Miriam should get her own column in this blog!
