Want to do something exciting with your digital photographs? Photostory 3 is a free download from Microsoft and enables you to create slideshows using your digital photos. Effects, soundtracks, voiceovers, titles and captions can be added to enhance your slideshow. You can e-mail shows to family and friends, watch them on TV or computer. A great way to store your memories. I have tried and tested this and it is really easy to use, great fun and very impressive. Here’s one I made earlier!photostory1.wmv

- Click on the Preferences tab (just right of the search bos) and change the interface language to “Klingon”. To change it back you need to know what’s Klingon for “English”! (divl’ hol). There are a few other strange languages to try but a serious one might be to set the interface for German for a language class.
Thanks to Richard Elliot (Just Haiverin) for letting me pinch this from his blog

Have you ever tried to e-mail photos to family/friends and because the file size is so big it takes ages to send? That is because the photo file size is huge. I have discovered free software which reduces the size of you photo but not the quality. It works with single photos and multiple photos and reduces size but not quality. If you click on this link Pixresizer you will be able to open up a .pdf file with step by step instructions. If you have problems blog me back. (Be patient, the first time you try to open it, it may be slow). Also, if you right click and ‘open in a new window’ that might speed things up.
A tip from Christie Milne P5W - instead of checking your spelling and grammer by going into ‘Tools’ - ‘Check Spelling & Grammer’, just press F7 on the keyboard and ‘hey presto’ it appears on the screen like magic.
Here is a tip from Alasdair in P6B. If you have lots of documents open, instead of having to close each one click F4 and it will close down all the documents in one go.

This looks great as we have lots of problems with pics being too big. Only problem is downloading to school network. Did you find a way round that?

Hello P6 Loirston,
My PC is actually ’stand alone’ so I am able to download software easily. What I usually do is download pics for all the teachers, reduce them and then put them on pen drives or floppy discs for them to use. With pixresizer, it only takes seconds. Does that help?
Your blog is great too. Lets hope we can share lots of ideas together.
